1. Walks in wellies

Slip on your wellington boots and embark on a walking adventure! And when you’ve got your wellies on, jumping in muddy puddles is allowed…whatever your age!

2. Cosy up by the fire

Enjoy the warm glow of the fire in our Lounge while reading a book or playing a board game. The perfect experience that encapsulates all things ‘hygge’, there’s no other feeling quite like it when it’s cold outside.

3. Have a royal flutter

Ascot Racecourse – a favourite spot of many royals including the Queen – is just a 20 minute drive from The Runnymede. The perfect spot for soaking up a bit of local history as well as for enjoying the thrill of placing a bet or two – the next race day is on Saturday 15th February.

4. The oldest castle in the world

Everyone should visit Windsor Castle at least once in their life. The oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, Windsor Castle is almost 1,000 years old and is also the weekend home of the Queen. During your visit, you’ll be able to step inside the State Apartments, watch the Changing of the Guard and visit St George’s Chapel – the location of many notable royal weddings…

5. Spa time

Some days are designed for staying indoors – and where better to hide-out than our award-winning spa? Recline by the pool with a magazine, make the most of our health boosting facilities – including the infra-red cabin – and book a treatment from our tempting spa menu. You don’t even need to worry about what the weather’s doing…

6. Tea for two – or more

The perfect antidote to a bracing morning walk in winter is our indulgent afternoon tea later in the day. Tuck into a tower of sandwiches, scones and sumptuous homemade cakes – washed down with refillable tea and a glass of rose champagne. We also serve vegan and gluten-free afternoon tea so no-one is left out. It’s time to gather your friends!

7. A farm for all

Open year-round, Odds Farm Park is one of a few farm attractions in the UK open during the winter too – and it’s just a 20 minute drive from The Runnymede. Perfect for families and animal lovers, meet the animals, discover some rare breeds, play crazy golf or enjoy a cuppa while the kids run wild in the soft play area.

8. Whirlpool on the Weir

Our warming whirlpool on our private riverside jetty offers an invigorating experience. Stay totally warm in the water while you enjoy the enlivening crisp air on your face. We’ll even bring you a glass of bubbly if you wish! Whirlpool on the Weir is available for use by all our guests.

9. Learn a water sport

One for adrenalin fanatics and those who don’t feel the cold! Liquid Leisure Windsor runs lessons for water sports on its stunning lakes from February to December every year, including kneeboarding, water skiing, wake surfing and more!
