Come and relax and feel at home at the Runnymede on Thames. We do absolutely everything we can to make life as easy as possible for wheelchair users – and if there’s anything else you need, please just ask!
Parking and entering our hotel
We’ve positioned three accessible parking spaces very close to our main entrance. If they’re all in use, we can park your car for you. Wheelchair users can enter our disabled access hotel through our main entrance; our forecourt and all ground floor public areas are all on one easy level.
Checking in made easy
If you prefer, we’re just as happy to come around the other side of the Reception desk or register you inside your guest room. Equally, you’re welcome to check in at our low level hotel guest relations desk – you’ll see it on the right when you come in, close to the Leftbank restaurant. For guests using hearing aids we have induction loops at our main reception desk.
Bedrooms in our disabled access hotel
We’ve created two very spacious bedrooms for guests with special needs at our luxury hotel. Both guest rooms are located very close to the lift and fire escape for easy access and offer you:
Wider doorways – easy access for wheelchairs
A large bathroom with suitable taps, sanitary ware and grab handles
Call assistance alarm system from your bathroom and bedroom
Wardrobes and drawer units with appropriate access for guests who are mobility impaired
Text displays and hotel information displayed on a television screen
Visual fire alarm warning for guests with a hearing impediment
Readers, guiders, and menus and other documents in large clear print, for guests with a visual impairment.
Fully controllable lighting and air conditioning
Easy access to everything
Our main reception, events area, Lounge, and riverside restaurants Leftbank and The Lock Bar and Kitchen are easily accessible to everyone and are all on one level. There’s ramped access to the terraces and riverside areas.
Meetings and events facilities
Our meetings and events areas are spacious and all on one level with wide doorways and are accessible from main reception. There are also unisex accessible toilets in the Grand Union area and close to the riverside suites. We have induction loops fitted in all of our Grand Union and Riverside suites which can be utilised when using our AV equipment.
Accessible toilet facilities
You’ll find two unisex accessible toilets on the ground floor. One is just beside reception and the Lounge; the other is in the events area.
Easy access to the fitness spa
Our spa and gymnasium are spacious and all on one level with wide doorways. Please note that we currently don’t have any equipment or toilet or shower facilities specifically designed for wheelchair users. The nearest toilet with disabled access is near reception.
Following the latest government announcement, we are delighted to share the news that we will be re-opening the hotel including our restaurants, lounge and riverside terraces from Monday 17th May. The Spa will re-open to members and non-residents from Monday 12th April.
