Team update: What we’re looking forward to

The team at The Runnymede are like one big family. As we all start to come together again to prepare for our grand re-opening, we've caught up with some of our team to find out what they are most excited about post-lockdown, both at the hotel and at home!

Sue Wolton, General Manager

I’m looking forward to all of us being a team again, looking after our guests and getting the business back on its feet. Of course I’m also looking forward to seeing friends and family and going out to support other local pubs and restaurants.

Hannah Richardson, Restaurant & Lounge Manager

Like most people, I am looking forward to getting back to some kind of normality and having the team back on board. Socially, I’m looking forward to playing bowls at my local club, hopefully in the sun!

David Coutts, Executive Chef

I’m so glad that golf is now back on the cards – I’ll be back on the course as soon as possible, with a chilled beer after the game. At The Runnymede, I’m excited to launch our new outside, informal dining area and to see people enjoy themselves by the river.

Hayley Jenkinson, Food & Beverage Manager

I can’t wait to have the team back and see our regular guests, especially the ones we missed at Christmas. Outside of work, I’m planning to go horse riding with my Mum in Windsor Great Park.

Luisa Pais, PA to the General Manager

I’m most looking forward to seeing my baby nephew – and getting my hair cut! And of course, getting the Runnymede family all back together again.

David Tomkins, Business Controller

At The Runnymede, I’m looking forward to hearing chatter, laughter and the chinking of glasses. I’d also like to plan a trip to Ireland to see my family.

Martin Jenkinson, Meetings & Events Operations Manager

During lockdown I’ve been working on getting my boat renovation finished so I’m very excited to complete this and launch it in the River Thames.

I’ve definitely missed having a routine, so that will be good to get back to. Plus, visiting my grandparents who I haven’t seen in a year!

Becky Robinson, Head Spa Therapist

This may not be immediate, but eventually I’m looking forward to not having to wear masks, so that clients can see our expressions and vice versa. I’ll definitely be seeing friends for cocktails and nibbles as soon as possible.

Sharron Garrett, Reservations Agent

It will be such a treat to go out for dinner and not have to cook! Apart from that, it’s the simple things I’m looking forward to, talking to people in person – both colleagues and friends.
