When it comes to planning a team building event, the last thing you want to end up with is a whole day in a corporate boardroom. Taking inspiration from David Brent and The Office is certainly not the way forward. Unique to hosting a team building event by the River Thames is dragon boat racing, one of the fastest growing water sports in the UK. Most of our team building visitors don’t have any prior experience of dragon boating, so this is an opportunity for everyone to start from the same knowledge base. They learn the basics and then work as a team in the Dragon Boat Challenge finale to see who passes the finish line first. This is a high energy way to kick off a team building day, keeping participants buzzing for the rest of the day, or a super way to finish the day off on a high.
That’s not the only high energy team building activity we have. We can also organise five-a-side-football tournaments, clay pigeon shooting or off-road driving. On our lawns, less adrenalin pumping activities include tournaments using our oversized games, including Jenga, Connect Four and chess.
If you need your team building event to incorporate some business as well as fun, we have all the facilities you need to make your day conducive to work, peppered with inspirational touches. Our meeting and conference rooms are decked out with all the mod cons, while break out areas have retro games, jelly beans and comfy sofas. We’ll also bring you tea, coffee, smoothies and home-made snacks throughout the day. Weather permitting, you can also gather around the giant bean bags on our lawns for less formal chats. In addition, our spa offers an express treatment menu, where delegates can have a quick 15-minute treatment when on a break from a meeting.
When it comes to food, we’ll provide buffet lunches or bespoke menus, while overnight team building events include delicious dinners too. During the warmer months, our Summer Sizzler package includes a riverside barbecue, which comes with a selection of 12 mouth-watering menu items. Overnight Summer Sizzler delegates also get access to our health club including indoor and outdoor pools, a whirlpool bath, saunas, a fitness studio and gym with Technogym equipment. As well as overnight accommodation, there’s a full English breakfast included in the morning, complete with a fresh egg and waffle station manned by one of our talented chefs.
