Less time travelling

Whenever you make that important decision to take some time off, the last thing you want to do is spend too much time travelling elsewhere. Avoid the airports and stay closer to home instead – there are lots of adventures to be had within striking distance of London. The Runnymede on Thames is located by the M25 and M3, while the fast train from London Waterloo to Egham takes less than 40 minutes. That’s under an hour from the urban jungle to riverside relaxation.

Space for yourself

Every Londoner is familiar with the tourist influxes into the city during holidays throughout the year. As much as you love taking tourist photos and tripping over luggage, sometimes it’s time to be a tourist yourself for a change! Escape London’s heaving attractions and the packed Southbank riverside in the city centre, and swap it for some riverside bliss a little further upriver. At The Runnymede on Thames, our riverside terraces and lawns, outdoor pool, indoor spa, lounge and two restaurants ensure there’s a corner for everyone to find some peace.

Things to do

London doesn’t necessarily have it all when it comes to attractions and interesting places to visit on your time off. We’ve got everything London has – and sometimes more – at and around The Runnymede on Thames.

Get active

Getting active in the great outdoors is something many dream of when stuck in an office in London. Yet the reality of doing outdoor activity in London can mean contending with traffic, jam-packed parks and booked-out leisure facilities. At The Runnymede on Thames, swim in one of the pools, take your pick from one of three tennis courts and enjoy access to high-tech gym equipment and workout classes. Walk or cycle along the Thames Path or in the abundant National Trust land surrounding us, or take one of our electric boats out for a jaunt on the water.

Adventure and attractions

London may have castles, theme-park style experiences and an abundance of foodie treats, but so do we! Windsor Castle is just a short distance away – accessible by boat if you want to make a day of it. Theme parks and attractions nearby include Thorpe Park, LEGOLAND® Windsor, Chessington World of Adventures and the Warner Brothers Studio Harry Potter tour. And when it comes to food, The Runnymede on Thames offers an array of dining options; from seasonal dishes in the AA rosette award-winning Lock Bar and Kitchen to lighter bites in The Lounge. Windsor is home to an array of fine dining restaurants, while numerous country and riverside pubs are just waiting to be explored in the local area.

Spend less time travelling and more time enjoying your time off during an escape from the city at The Runnymede on Thames.
