Windsor Great Park is local to the hotel and a great place to visit – there’s lots to see including the beautiful Copper Horse statue.
Most exciting is exploring the park and seeing all of the sights on horseback. Simply visit Tally Ho! Stables, located just outside the park and enjoy one of their rides.
“My favourite local spot is Royal Holloway. It was where I completed my degree so I have fond memories of the place, but it is also such a beautiful building.”
“I do all of my exploring on my paddleboard so my favourite local spots are water based! Firstly, there’s Basingstoke Canal which is less than half an hour from The Runnymede and is so peaceful – perfect for getting those Instagram shots. Secondly, Neward Priory is a ruined priory situated on an island surrounded by the River Wey, a beautiful spot to pass, especially when paddleboarding.
“Swinley Forest is only 30 minutes from The Runnymede but feels a lot further – it’s so beautiful, you could be anywhere in the world. Cycling enthusiasts can take on the challenge of biking through the forest but it’s just as fun enjoying a leisurely stroll and capturing some stunning photos.”
“Painshill Park for me is the very best place to get those Instagrammable photos. It was actually created as a living painting, hence why it is described as walking through a work of art. There are plenty of photo opportunities, including a vineyard, the beautiful Serpentine Lake and the five arch bridge where Bridgerton was filmed – making it even more Insta-worthy!”
