Men’s Health Week (10th – 16th June) is held during the week leading up to Father’s Day each year and focuses on the health and wellness of men. It’s a time to ensure all the men in our lives pay a little more attention to their health and wellbeing.

Father’s Day is a time when we want to treat our dads, and Men’s Health Week is a reminder for men to look after themselves the rest of the year too. The Men’s Health Forum website has a range of resources and support available to men, including everything from healthy waist sizes and how much exercise to do per week, to guidelines on fruit, vegetable and alcohol consumption.

Here are some of our top tips of things to do in and around The Runnymede to help you focus on male wellbeing.

Riverside walk

Taking a walk surrounded by nature is perfect for enjoying some gentle exercise while clearing the mind. The Runnymede gives direct access to the River Thames towpath, while the ancient Runnymede meadows are our neighbours too. It’s the perfect spot to take dad and the whole family to enjoy the great outdoors together.

Spa for men

Our award-winning spa has a number of treatments that have been designed especially with men in mind. Our Father and Son Spa Day is perfect for Men’s Health Week, with a choice of treatments, full use of our spa facilities and toiletries especially for dad. Plus here are some other spa treatments perfect for men.

Father’s Day lunch

Spending quality time with family is great for the mind, body and spirit. Join us for Father’s Day in The Lock Bar and Kitchen for hearty, homestyle cooking.

A little exercise

Life is all about balance, so when you come to stay with us at The Runnymede, it’s time to enjoy the best of all worlds. Weave some exercise into your stay and visit our top-of-the-range fitness centre, swim a few lengths in our indoor or outdoor pool, join an exercise class, or play an exhilarating match on one of our tennis courts.

Riverboating

Sometimes it’s healthy to challenge your body and mind by doing something totally different. We have a number of riverboats you can take for a spin on the river, so take dad to be ‘captain’ for an afternoon. Family time filled with laughter awaits!
