1. Art in the Garden

An event in The Savill Garden – 35 acres of enclosed gardens in Windsor Great Park – this sculpture exhibition is a fantastic way to enjoy crisp wintry days. Hosted by the Surrey Sculpture Society, incredible sculptures can be discovered nestled amid exotic plants and magnificent woodland. Art in the Garden is running until 24th November.

2. Windsor on Ice

Don your winter coats, gloves and hats and head over to Alexandra Gardens in Windsor for ice skating galore. With an indoor and outdoor ice rink, festive food, winter warming drinks, plus rides where you can let your hair down – including the UK’s biggest dodgems attraction – this is an afternoon out with plenty going on. Windsor on Ice is open from 16th November to 5th January.

3. Windsor and Eton Living Advent Calendar

Every evening at 18:15 from 1st to 24th December, a different window or door in the locality will open for a 15 minute performance. The venue is kept secret until the day of the event, and the performance will range from songs, carols and music, to book readings, fun sketches and dance. Drinks and nibbles will also be served. The perfect festive surprise before heading out for a drink or meal in Windsor!

4. Christmas History Walk

Join Royal Windsor Tours between 26th and 31st December for a fascinating walking tour. Discover gems of Windsor’s local history and find out more about the Victorian Christmas and how ancient monarchs spent Christmas time at Windsor Castle. The tour lasts for an hour and a half, with tea or coffee served at the end.

5. Carriage ride

Add a sprinkling of romance to your day out this winter by embarking on a horse-drawn carriage ride around Windsor Great Park. Do as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did after their wedding and travel in style along a route around the impressive park. Snuggle under cosy lap rugs and go the extra mile with a picnic or special occasion stop with champagne. Ascot Carriages runs carriage rides throughout the winter.
