Turn right and walk along the river….

An array of fantastic pubs will be waiting for you if you turn right and go for a scenic riverside walk towards Shepperton. Here are our top spots for a pitstop, whether you want to cool off with a refreshing drink or simply have a rest and watch the world go by…

20 minutes walk…

Take a 20 minute stroll along the river and make a stop at The Swan in Staines, which sits serenely on the river and serves up blissful river views and a good pint.

25 minutes further…

Mosey down a little further and you’ll find The Wheatsheaf and Pigeon, perfect for those who want to get the ‘traditional pub’ atmosphere – family and dog friendly too.

15 minutes further…

Just 15 minutes from The Whatsheaf and Pigeon you’ll have your choice of either the individually styled The Three Horseshoes with al fresco dining and hearty food or a quirky alternative, The Feathers in the pretty village of Laleham.

30 minutes further…

For your penultimate stop, you have a choice of 2 pubs, either The Kingfisher or The Bridge, both with river views in Chertsey.

30 minutes further…

And finally, if you’ve still got the energy, wander a little further to Thames Court on the towpath at Shepperton for a celebratory drink that you’ve made it this far!

Turn left and walk along the river….

As you come out the back of the hotel with the river in front of you, turning left will take you to the popular, cultural hotspot, Windsor. There’s a lovely pub to stop at on the way but with such a wide choice, most of our recommendations are once you get into the heart of Windsor.

35 minutes walk…

Walk half an hour or so from The Runnymede and you’ll be ready for a cold drink at The Bells of Ouzeley in Old Windsor.

In Windsor…

From here, head straight into the centre of Windsor and take your pick from the following…

In Eton…

Hop across the river and you’re in beautiful Eton where we have two unique pubs we recommend for a tipple or two…

  • The George, the flagship pub of the renowned Windsor & Eton Brewery
  • The Henry VI, a warm pub complete with open fireplace
