Make your way to Egham High Street on 10th December for a Christmas fair with a local feeling. Just a five minute drive or a 15 minute walk from The Runnymede, get festive with children’s rides and crafts, Santa’s grotto and plenty of entertainment. There will also be a number of food and craft stalls to peruse.
Make your way to Staines High Street on 9th December – just a five minute drive or 30 minute walk away from The Runnymede – for a Christmas-themed farmers market. Discover a range of fresh local produce, artisan food, street food stands and craft stalls – all with some festive flair.
Just ten minutes away from The Runnymede is The Savill Garden, on the edge of Windsor Great Park and Virginia Water. Festivities here run all the way through until 2nd January 2019 and there’s even more going on than the market. Shop in The Savill Building to find gift inspiration from a range of British artisans – head over on 1st, 8th or 15th December to sample local meat, cider and gin too. The Savill Garden Kitchen will also be serving festive foodie treats. Elsewhere on the property, follow the Winter Sprite Trail, have a go on the vintage carousels and listen to local choirs performing Christmassy songs.
Just a 20 minute drive from The Runnymede is Ascot Racecourse, home to a huge Christmas Fair until 2nd December. Hosted in the famous race course’s pavilion, there’s a whole floor dedicated to food, from fudge and flapjacks to cheese and various tipples. Upstairs is the place to find some genuinely original Christmas gifts. From pottery, silk scarves and other hand-crafted goods, to flowers, Christmas decorations and local wares – get lost in the creativity and get your Christmas shopping done too!
A short drive beyond Ascot Racecourse is the luxury shopping mall, The Lexicon. Hosting festive markets for the very first time this year, this is the place to tuck into some winter warming food and drinks, from mulled wine and specialist hot chocolate, to Yorkshire pudding wraps and German bratwurst. There’s also a variety of stalls selling Christmassy gifts, while children will enjoy the festive merry-go-round. The market runs until 24th December.
For an intimate Christmas market experience, make your way to Peacock Farm, less than half an hour away from The Runnymede. They’ll be hosting a Christmas market from 7th to 9th December with 30 stalls selling everything from hand-made jewellery to gorgeous candles. An outside bar will be serving winter warming drinks, while the obligatory Christmassy bratwurst sausages will tickle the taste buds.
