1. Spring saunters

With bright flowers in bloom, wildlife waking up and the sun cracking a ray or two – spring is a picture-perfect time of year to take a walk from The Runnymede. Enjoy direct access to the River Thames towpath from the hotel and take a wander up to the Runnymede Pleasure Grounds for a particularly pretty stroll.

2. A little court action

Enjoy some fresh air along with a friendly match on one of our tennis courts. Ideal for getting ahead of Britain’s tennis season and brushing up your game, running around on our courts offers a little fun exercise.

3. Boating-on-Thames

Our riverboats come out of their winter hibernation in spring – perfect for exploring the river on your own terms. Grab some goodies to-go from our Lounge and stop for a picnic along the way too!

4. Some royal sightseeing

Make the most of the milder spring days with a spot of sightseeing in royal Windsor, located just upriver from The Runnymede. As well as paying a visit to the oldest occupied castle in the world, take a stroll around the town’s pretty streets for shopping and people-watching.

5. Bluebell woods

A magical time of year when a carpet of bluebells emerges in local woodland, spring brings a window of just a few weeks to catch a glimpse of this gorgeous sight. The woodland around the Magna Carta memorials on neighbouring National Trust land is the perfect place to see these flowers in all shades of purple and blue.

6. Afternoon tea with a view

Celebrate the changing season by tucking into an indulgent afternoon tea treat. Now served in The Lock Bar and Kitchen, our towers of fine finger sandwiches, sumptuous scones and perfect pastries can be enjoyed overlooking the charming Bell Weir Lock.

7. Race days at Ascot

Have a flutter and soak up the feeling of spending a little time at one of the Queen’s favourite race courses! Spring brings a variety of racing events at Ascot, including Spring Family Raceday on 29th March and Royal Ascot Trials on 29th April 2020.

8. Get lost in a book

Our orchard is a place where you can hide away from the world for a while – perfect for mild spring days! Listen to the rustling of the leaves in the breeze and get stuck into a good book. Spring is a time for simple pleasures!
