It’s time to get away

11am:

Climb aboard the train at London Waterloo, or head to the hotel on the M25 by car. Either way, you’ll reach The Runnymede on Thames in about an hour.

12pm to 3pm:

Staycations demand a little chill-out time, so drop off your luggage and head straight to the spa. Indulge in the ESPA Mindful Massage to treat both body and mind, or luxuriate in the Top to Toe treatment, which includes hair, facial and scalp therapies as well as a full body massage. Make the most of our award-winning spa facilities with a dip in our indoor or outdoor pools afterwards or simply switch off with a book in the Garden Room.

3pm to 6pm:

From our lawns, step straight onto the River Thames towpath and enjoy the amazing scenery it has to offer. Watch the boats go by, take a dip in our riverside whirlpool, or take one of our boats out for a spin from our private jetty. Alternatively, simply wander alongside the water and enjoy the peace and quiet that riverside life has to offer.

6pm to 8pm:

Get ready for dinner in your cosy bedroom. When you’re ready, whet your appetite in The Lounge with a pre-dinner drink. Our gin and tonic menu has a tempting array of quirky gins and creative mixers.

8pm to 10pm:

Tuck into a three-course meal in our AA Rosette restaurant, The Lock Bar and Kitchen. Seasonal flavours and creative culinary treats lie in store for you, matched with specially curated cocktail and wine menus.

Alternatively, our Leftbank restaurant provides an excellent buffet dining experience with the stunning backdrop of the River Thames.

10pm to 8am:

Retire to your room feeling completely satisfied after a perfect day. Watch a film or make a cup of herbal tea before bed. Just make sure you get the optimal eight hours of sleep – our Hypnos beds with hypoallergenic bedding will send you on your way.

8am to 9am:

Head over to our state-of-the-art gym or join a fitness class for a guided run along the Thames or an outdoor Pilates session in The Orchard. You could also book a session with a personal trainer, or simply make the most of our raft of Technogym equipment.

9am to 10am:

Enjoy the breakfast of your choice in our Leftbank restaurant. Whether it’s cereal with a fresh juice or a fry-up with all the trimmings that takes your fancy, there’s a morning treat for everyone.

10am to 11am:

Take a stroll upstream and discover the riverside site of the sealing of Magna Carta, where Turner Prize-winning artist Mark Wallinger has created ‘Writ in Water’, an installation inspired by Clause 39 of Magna Carta.

You will also find memorials to John F. Kennedy, The Magna Carta and “The Jurors” a unique installation of 12 bronze chairs by artist Hew Locke a direct reference to part of Magna Carta, which states that no man can be imprisoned “except by the lawful judgment of his equals or by the law of the land” and unveiled by Prince William in 2015.
